After performing as the frontman of the Sex Pistols, John Lydon formed the pioneers of post-punk, Public Image Ltd (PiL). Widely regarded as one of the most innovative bands of all time, PiL scored 5 singles and 5 albums in the Top 20 of the UK sales charts.
With its variable lineup and unique sound, which combined rock, dance, folk, pop, and dub, Lydon led the band from their 1978 debut album, “First Issue,” to “That What Is Not” in 1992, after which there was a 17-year hiatus.
Lydon reactivated PiL in 2009, touring extensively and releasing three highly acclaimed albums: “This is PiL” in 2012, followed by “What The World Needs Now…” in 2015 and “End of World” in 2023.
