Obscure Sphinx was formed in 2008. As a music genre, they are placed somewhere between modern Doom and Post-Metal, but they are also not afraid of drawing on the experience of other music genres.

Their 2011 debut album ‘Anaesthetic Inhalation Ritual’ was acknowledged as one of the most interesting album premières of Polish Metal music for years. Live performances of the band are based on smashing guitar rhythm supported by unbelievable vocals that let the crew win the hearts of fans in Poland and abroad. Throughout their stage career the band performed alongside Amon Amarth, Coroner, Crippled Black Phoenix, Resetta, Tides From Nebula and Blindead. They also staged on Metal Open Airs, Off Festiwal, the German Summer Breeze, the Czech Brutal Assault and Gothoom Fest in Slovakia.

Their second album, ‘Void Mother’, had its première on the 15th of November 2013. The album, as the previous one ‘Air’ likewise, had fantastic reviews. The band started the promoting tour, ‘Czarna Polska Jesień’ along with Behemoth and Thaw, performing in six Polish cities.

‘Void Mother’ was also rewarded in annual ratings (among the others Antyradio, T-Mobile Music or Metalstorm.net) and kept the pole position as the best album of 2013.
